Komodo Dragons of Indonesia

Komodo dragons are the world's largest and heaviest lizards. They can grow to a length from of 2.5 to over 3 metres, and can weigh from 70 to 90 kg. The dragon's keen sense of smell, if aided by favorable winds, enables it to seek out decaying flesh of dead animals up to 8.5 kilometers away. Despite its size, the Komodo is fast moving and agile and can climb trees like all monitor lizards. They are also good swimmers. Its mouth is filled with serrated teeth with remnants of meat from previous meals. This makes their mouths reek from rotting meat resulting in them having saliva laden with bacteria which is poisonous. An animal bitten by a Dragon, even if it escapes, will eventually die from the poison alone, and become a meal for other dragons.
